So for those of you who were unable to make the pilgrimage out to the mecca of music that is Coachella Valley, here's your chance to get a little taste of the magic. And for those of you who were lucky enough to bask in the same sweltering Indio sun, frolic around the same grassy wonderland, and feel the same euphonious melodies rattle your eardrums and flow through your bones as I did, here's your chance to briefly relive that moment.
Coachella 3D
If you cross your eyes until the two images focus into three, the center image should take you on a sort of photographic magic carpet ride. Hold on tight! You'll be arriving in Coachella Valley shortly ;) [click the image to view it larger]
Sunchella
Feel that? The sizzle that ripples the air in the far off distance, the rays that remind you it's time to whip out the SPF 70 + helioplex, the intense heat that renders many a folk bare as can be... None other than that infamous star that strikes Coachella this time every year with full force--the sun! And boy, did it make quite the appearance this year.
She's just being Miley.
Kid knows how to keep it cool.
"hella coachella"
Miss Hill. Enough said.
Moonchella
The moment the sky hints at tints of pastel pink and dusky orange, a sigh of relief washes over the sea of sun soaked music lovers. The slow solar descent preps Coachella for a party of polar sorts, but of equal magnificence. When the sun finally goes down and the full moon ascends, the night owls and fireflies come out to play! It's absolutely electric.
Watching the world turn...
Put your hands up for Coachella!
Under cover of darkness, The Strokes still glow.
The Chemical Brothers know what's up.
Final note: I failed to capture two of the most epic moments of my life... Bright Eyes & Arcade Fire. I didn't have my camera at the time, which I regret, but then again don't. I guess some moments, you just gotta live and preserve in your mind body & soul. Plus, I know for a fact that no photo could ever capture to any degree how unequivocally spectacular and moving these two performances were. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have fulfilled my ultimate teenage dream... to have Conor Oberst serenade my soul and Arcade Fire blow my mind. Epic. Epic. Epic.
Thank you so much for sharing lady!! I love what I have seen of your blog, hooray for documenting and sharing adventures!! :D:)
