Los Angeles, you will always have a place in my heart. It always takes just one solid trip back home to recognize the magic of a big city. Especially when I get to roam the city streets with my best friends--Amber, my bestie since preschool, and Alec, my bestie from college! Two of the greatest people you'll ever meet. And definitely the best people to plan a weekend completely devoted to going insane, throwing some glitter, and making it rain. In other words, who else would I get all glittered, studded, animal printed, and bejeweled out for the Ke$ha Get $leazy tour with?
Our pre-$how game plan included a nostalgic trip to Olvera Street, where we wandered around the precious street shops full of little Mexican nicknacks and the best corner taquito stand in LA, Cielito Lindo. Can you say jumbo horchata and a chile relleno on the side?
Ke$ha sure knows how to BLOW up the stage. Anyone who can embrace the art of going hard and being trashy, all in the name of being yourself and not letting anyone phase you, is awesome in my book. Plus, she probably eats glitter for breakfast. That said, she's obviously someone I admire. :) Ke$ha's sheer presence unleashed the animalistic instinct to dance from within each wild child in the crowd and it was almost impossible not to chant the words from every song she rocked the stage with. Multiple explosions of confetti, glow-in-the-dark tribal paint, the utter massacre of a cat-shaped piñata on stage, and blood dripping from Ke$ha's bright blue lips. What more could you ask for?
